Neglect Of Oldies
It is a matter of grave concern that people always pay least heed to the proper care of the aged or senior persons in the society. They are not taken care of by the young generation. For this particular reason, those who are under burden of the decrepitude and senility are seen suffering the brunt of negligence and humiliation in life. Life seems to be barren just like a black hole. There is no way of point of return to the normalcy of main stream of the society. Therefore they are ostracized from the rest of the world. There are different types of injustice and wrong doings done against the oldies.
There is no denying the fact that with the advent of the modern era and the tremendous impact of the commercialism, there is adrenalin rush to the stores, shopping malls, or any big and fashionable emporia to purchase a number of good and marvelous products. All prefer to do shopping in such fashionable malls but the aged persons are treated badly while they are seen hovering around the shopping malls and markets. They are not given any special reception or attention. They are considered to be extra burden without any positive result. Their physical disability or mobility problems are big drawbacks to them. Apart from this there are other social injustice and wrong judgments which happen with elder people.
The most severe injustice is forgery and counterfoil. Often it is seen that property of the old citizens is either confiscated or encroached by changing the name of the original land owners. Money is unlawfully transacted and withdrawn from one’s account without any prior permission. If the society as well as the local folks connive at the importance of the geriatric class, there is no way of the upgradation of the aged people in the country. Often it is also seen that the aged persons are left in hospitals or in oldage homes. Last but not the least that this type of painful separation forces the aged persons to commit either suicide or they suffer the caustic bang of solitary confinement.
